Thank you for your interest in employment at the Humane Society of Charlotte.  Below is a list of positions currently available at the Humane Society of Charlotte.

Development Intern:
This unpaid development internship opportunity is available every semester (Fall, Spring and Summer). It will include working on behalf of the Humane Society of Charlotte under supervision of the Director of Development and include assistance in the areas of fundraising, PR and Marketing.  This position requires 10-20 hours of work per week, with plenty of opportunities to fill your portfolio while having a lot of fun and flexibility at the same time.

Internship Projects Include:
• Researching/prospecting for grant funding opportunities.
• Assisting with writing grant proposals
• Assisting with tracking submitted proposals, awarded grant follow-ups, etc.
• Assisting with special event planning and execution
• Coordinating membership recruitment and retention programs
• Clerical projects including filing, database maintenance, organizing, phone calling, etc.
• Assisting with data entry and donor record maintenance
• Graphic design of flyers, emails, etc. as needed
• Assistance with PR efforts including writing press releases and follow-up with media outlets

Qualifications:
• Recommended to students with a major in communications or marketing/public relations
• Must be comfortable interacting with dogs and cats
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable in casually-dressed, fun-filled environment

Length of Commitment:
• Semester Length (Sept-Dec; Jan-April; May-Aug)
