MILES
Miles has done so well. In his first week with us he has taken a road trip to Lake Murray, SC with us Saturday. He got to ride in a boat, too. He loved looking at the purple martins that flock and swarm at “Bird Island.”
He joins us in bed on nights with lighting storms and snuggles close, how sweet is that? He’s even gone to see our vet, just to say “Hey, I’m new and I’m ready.” We all absolutely love him. He has such a good gentle nature with all of us.
All of us just love him. He so smart, he knows where his bed is, his toys, and his food dish. He’s really a GREAT find and a great Friend!

PINKIE
Pinkie is doing great. She loves my family and czechs´ parks. Hope that all of yours dogs and cats will have one day happy home like Pinkie.

MERLOT & GRIGIO
I adopted Grigio on Saturday and loved him so much came back on Sunday and got his sister Merlot.
Both are adjusting to their new family with ease. It is as if they have always been here. Our dog Marley (a nine year old stray we have had since he was a puppy), is enjoying his little brother and sister immensely. It is nice to see him running around acting like a puppy again. We are so happy to have these two dogs and feel like they have really completed our lives. Thank you so much!!! Attached is a picture Grigio and Merlot's reunion.

ROSE (AKA BELLE)
We did decide to change her name. We call her Belle. She is so sweet around humans. She is very smart and uses that to her advantage, believe me!!! She loves treats so much that training her to sit, stay, lay down, leave it, come, etc… has been so easy. She and my American Pit Bull, Judah are getting along well. Judah is showing her how to have good manners for treats and as you can see in the picture, Belle loves to cuddle up to Judah!

MILLER
We adopted Kodiak from you in February of this year and I wanted to send you some pictures of him now. We named him Miller and he has turned out to be HUGE! He weighs about 80 lbs. now and he is only 10 months old. Miller is a very sweet and smart dog and we are so happy we got him.
Thanks again for your help that day!
TAMPA
Tampa was meant to be in our family. Nine months before we got her I stopped into the Humane Society to drop off some donation items. I decided to look around at the dogs and immediately fell in love with her. I was unable to get her at that time because I was getting married and it wasn’t opportune timing.
A few months later I found out she had been adopted…it was a bitter-sweet moment. I was happy she was adopted but I just couldn’t stop thinking about her.
The month after my wedding I was hosting a dog adoption at my work. While I was inside doing some prep work, my husband came running in to get me. He just looked at me and said, “She’s here!” The funny thing was he had never seen her before. I immediately ran outside and to my joy it was Tampa. That was all the convincing I needed…exactly 1 month, to the day, after my wedding I got my dog.
Tampa is doing so well; she is the perfect addition to our little family. Now my only goal is to get everyone to call me by my first name and not “Tampa’s Mom”

BOOMER
Thank you again for the special treatment and the warm welcome we received when we came to take Boomer home on Sunday! He loves exploring our neighborhood, and is showing promise as a jogging buddy. In fact he has been so gentle and good on the leash, he may be a good dog with all of us on rollerblades.
The children both love to brush him (before using him as a blanket/pillow) and he is soooooooo patient with their attention, and still manages to pull out the puppy energy for games of tag! We have already made trips to Petco, and have never seen a dog that not only loves meeting other dogs and people but is so interested in watching the fish and birds!

MOLLY
I just wanted to tell you how much we love having Libby (we call her Molly) in our lives. She is a very "needy" doggy, and we are the perfect family for her. She needs our attention almost always- sleeps with us and sits on the couch with us when we watch TV. My husband and I are home most days, which is perfect for Libby. Having a big fenced in yard and doors that stay open most of the time is heaven for her, too. She has gotten along with our cats from day one, as she is submissive to them and even lets them eat her food.

MOCHA
I found the newest addition to my family during a recent visit to the Humane Society. I adopted Mocha on Saturday. I was a little nervous about adopting a male cat with my 2 females, but given Mocha was an 8-year old adult & had been at the shelter for over 2 months, I figured he might have a hard time getting adopted. Not to mention that face is just plain irresistible!
I'm happy to report Mo not only ventured out from under the bed, but he's quickly gotten familiar with the litter box (first time was a charm!), the kitchen and the feeding routine. Just like his sisters, he's learned that Meowing generally results in breakfast/dinner or perhaps a treat in between. And, he's decided that it's much more comfortable on the sofa, especially to catch a quick cat nap.

LUKE
I adopted Luke (the 5 month boxer) last month. He truly is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I just wanted to thank you for so much for allowing him to come into my life!
He absolutely loves to cuddle with me and has to nuzzle his head into my lap when he takes naps. He is the most well-behaved puppy I've ever met (and my friends tell me the same thing too). He is incredibly fearless as he plays with all the neighborhood dogs as he is the instigator!

DEMPSEY
Dempsey is doing great. He is turning into a wonderful dog, and goes with me everywhere. He loves going on walks and playing at the dog park. He does great with meeting new dogs and people and children, and he even gets along with the cats! Dempsey's first couple weeks were challenging, but very rewarding.
UPDATE:

Dempsey (formerly Winchester) and Kristen have moved up north! He is still doing great. We live by a lake, and he gets to go on long walks around the lake every day which he absolutely loves. This is a picture of him taking it easy after a walk.

Grady
My actual name is Mary; however, everyone around the neighborhood and at the local dog park only knows me as “Grady’s Mom”. That is the charm factor of this amazing puppy. When I met Grady in June, I had come to the Humane Society to “just look” at the animals available in the hopes of adopting a dog sometime in the near future. Today, at eight months old, Grady is as rambunctious and loving as ever. He lives to meet new people or encounter new animals (he has this fascination with frogs right now that I am hoping he gets over soon) and could not have a better demeanor. On behalf of Grady and myself, I want to thank everyone at the Humane Society of Charlotte for providing a service that not only changes the lives of these animals, but changes the lives of their adoptive parents. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.
Mary Bray aka Grady’s Mom

Rue
We just wanted to let you know how Rue is doing. We absolutely love her! She has adapted very well to living with us and Midnight (though Midnight seems kinda bummed that he has to share our attention - he pouts a little!). We've discovered that Rue knows how to sit, shake, lie down, and she LOVES to fetch. We are so pleased with her and we feel so fortunate that we got such a great dog. Thanks!!!

FancyPants
I just wanted to send you some pictures of FancyPants, who we adopted on 06/12. She weighed in at 1 lbs 1 oz when we got her home. Today she's a whopping 2 lbs 3.5 oz. She has integrated with our other cats purrfectly! She has been such a joy, and is proving to be very smart! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be parents to such a wonderful kitten.

Brixx
I just recently adopted Brixx from the Humane Society, and fell in love with your organization. Some photos of Brixx are on my dad's website. Feel free to check them out. I think they're great!

Angus
I want to let you know that Angus is an outstanding dog. He is a perfect gentleman around other people and new places, but I am sure you already knew that. Here is a link to pictures of him chasing tennis balls. He is a great running partner too. I am looking forward to teaching him all sorts of new tricks. Thank you so much for everything, he is the perfect dog for me.

Daisy (Betty) Lou
She has made herself right at home with us and seems to be lovin life. We are calling her Daisy but we kept her middle name, so she's Daisy Lou. She sleeps with me and my husband snuggled right up against me all night. We took her to visit my parents this wknd and she slept the whole way there, 5 1/2 hrs! She is just the cutest, sweetest little girl and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her. Thank you so much for saving her for us.

Bonnie
*Bonnie was with HSC for a year waiting for her chance
We love seeing her adjust. She and our other dog, Redbud, are doing great together.
She's a sweet, lovable doggie, and we do love her!
She's adjusting well, gaining a little weight, attached to me and my husband

Sergie and Anya
Anya and Sergei are doing good. I took them both to the Birkdale Pet Parade on the 4th, they are really good with kids. Sergei went for his first hike a week ago at Crowders Mountain and he did a wonderful job.
