Bereavement Support Group
The Humane Society of Charlotte is pleased to inform the public that there is a pet grief support group designed for grieving pet owners. The group will be facilitated by Wesley Sturgis, MSW, a bereavement counselor from Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care Center, with medical advisor Ginny Dodd, DVM from Dodd Veterinary Imaging Services, Inc on hand to answer medical questions that participants may have. The goal of the group is to help pet owners share their feelings and experiences and help them recognize their feelings as they relate to the various stages in the grief process.
The group will meet on the second Thursday of each month in the Hope Building of Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church (10th Street & Seigle Avenue in Uptown Charlotte) from 7-8:30 p.m. If you have any questions about the group, please call Dr. Ginny Dodd at 704-531-0304.
