Our largest annual fundraiser, Pet Palooza, took place on May 15th at Independence Park. The event attracted more than 2,500 attendees. Our inaugural Kennelly 5k was a roaring success with a whopping 480 runners taking part, joined by over 100 canine runners!
The Kennelly 5k was named in honor of Sarah Lynn Kennelly, who passed away last fall and left a substantial estate bequest to the Humane Society of Charlotte. We were honored to host such a well-received addition to Pet Palooza in honor of Sarah Lynn Kennelly. For race results from the Kennelly 5k, please click here.
In addition to the walk and run, pet lovers enjoyed our annual fido fashion show, which was a huge hit as always, including 18 dogs who were adopted from our shelter last year. Attendees also had fun participating in our silent auction, watching agility demonstrations, perusing the vendor fair, and much more.
Pet Palooza was a great opportunity, as always, for pet lovers in the community to have fun while supporting the efforts of our organization. The event raised over $110,000 for the Humane Society of Charlotte and we would like to thank all of those who participated and helped us generate funds to further advance our mission.
