classroom activities

The Humane Society of Charlotte is pleased to offer an education program for students.  There are a several lessons in kindness to animals that you can use in your classroom or club. The program and all the lessons are age appropriate for grades K-3, grades 4-8, and grades 9-12.  Click on the links to download the teacher's guides.

The students will learn things like how to be safe around animals, how to properly care for a pet, the importance of having proper identification on pets, and many other ways to be a pet advocate. Teachers, these lessons can be completed during your regular class time or done in conjunction with a shelter visit, where we will complete some of the lessons.

Education programs are 60 to 90 minutes long and can be scheduled by completing this form.
