\The Humane Society of Charlotte Volunteer Program is a vital factor in our success. We greatly appreciate your willingness to help us achieve our mission of creating a no-kill community.

We have limited volunteer positions available.  Most of our needs are on a weekday availability.  All it takes to start is an application, some basic orientation classes, and the ability to make a weekly commitment.

All individuals 18 years of age and older are eligible to volunteer with us.  All volunteers must attend one of our monthly volunteer information session and complete the Volunteer Profile and Liability Release. These meetings will give you an overview of our organization, relevant guidelines and processes.

If you are between the ages of 10 and 17,  there is still a lot that you can do to help the animals. Check out Junior Volunteers, made especially for you!

Our opportunity directory contains volunteer needs that range from office work to professional services to hands-on animal care and socialization, both in the shelter and in foster homes. Specific training and instruction will be provided as needed for all volunteer tasks.

Thank you so much for considering the volunteering of your skills, talents, and time. We couldn’t do it without you!

If you have any questions, please contact Cat Belteau, volunteer coordinator, via email: cbelteau@humanesocietyofcharlotte.org or phone: (704) 494-7706.
