We have a very wide range of volunteer opportunities, and new programs are being added all of the time. Volunteers are essential to our day-to-day operations, so please take a moment to look over a few of the highlighted opportunities below:
Administration
Do you like office work? We have data entry, envelope stuffing, telephone answering and other office needs. Shifts available Monday - Friday
Adoption Follow-Up Calls
Do you like to talk on the phone? We will give you a list of recent adopters so you can check in and see how our pets are adjusting to their new forever homes! These calls may be made from our offices during business hours, and possibly from home in the evenings or on the weekends.

Would you like to help place out animals in their new forever homes? Adoption help process applications by completing veterinarian record checks, verifying home ownership/rental policies and other details. Shifts available daily.

Do you like computer work? This job helps with data entry, gift acknowledgement, alphabetizing donor records, folding/stuffing letters for mailings and other office work to thank our wonderful donors. Shifts available Monday-Friday.
Kennel Care
This position allows you to get down and dirty. Keeping the kennels and cages sanitary and fresh is one of our greatest needs. So, if you are willing to clean kennels, cages, bowls, and toys -- this job is for you! You’ll probably get some TLC yourself, because the kennel staff will worship at your feet! You work alongside staff to maintain the healthy conditions in our animal shelter. Shifts available every day.
Welcome Wags
Do you like meeting and talking with people? Our Ambassadors meet and greet shelter visitors, guide them to adoption areas and answer frequently asked questions (cheat-sheet provided!). This position requires volunteers to be stationed in the outdoor kennel area, with a large amount of standing or walking. Training is provided on-site and no prior experience is necessary! Shifts available every day.

Shifts available every day.
Humane Education
Do you enjoy public speaking and communicating with preschoolers to adults? Share your compassion for animals with those who want to know. Shifts vary dependidng on requests from the public.
Spay/Neuter Clinic Assistance
Do you enjoy a variety of activities? There is always something to do at our spay/neuter clinics. You can answer telephones in the office, complete registration forms, clean the pet cages after recovery or prepare the "sterile packs" for the next day surgeries. Shifts available Monday - Friday
Special Events/Fundraising Assistance
You can help in the planning and execution of our special events and fund-raisers such as our annual PetPalooza. These fun events provide a diverse range of opportunities to use your skills and creativity.
Walk to Adopt
Do you enjoy taking a dog for a walk in the park? This program allows trained volunteers to take one of the dogs from the shelter for a wonderful walk in an approved city park. In addition to socialization and exercise, who knows … the dog just might find their “forever family” to adopt them! Shifts available every day.
